I was classically trained at Saint Louis University under Professor Jeral Becker while studying theatre, and I’ve always loved the intersection of strong technique and honest emotion. My style is mostly classical, but my musical theatre background brings warmth and versatility. Since 2009, I've sung regularly at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis as a member of the Contemporary Music Ensemble, and I am also part of the Cantor Ministry, singing at weddings and funerals throughout the year.
My journey began at the age of seven when I was chosen to sing a solo for my First Communion. There's actually a funny story about that - at the rehearsal the night before, my mom was sitting in the back and couldn't see the altar clearly. I sang my solo and returned to my seat like nothing had happened. Later, someone leaned over to her and said, "Your daughter has such a beautiful voice!" Her response? "Wait, that was my kid?!" From that moment on, I knew singing was something special - for me, and for those listening.
I first sang for special events at my grandmother’s funeral in high school, and later at my sister’s wedding. Those moments helped me realize how powerful music can be, whether in comforting grief or celebrating love. When I lost my own mother, Kathy, in 2008, her final wish was that I keep singing. She believed in the power of music, and I carry that with me in every performance.
My favorite piece to sing is Schubert’s Ave Maria—it captures something sacred and emotional that words alone often can’t express. I feel incredibly honored to sing at weddings, funerals, and other milestones. I know firsthand that music can’t take away pain, but it can be a balm for a moment. And it can elevate joy, too—marking a memory in a way that stays with you. My performances are driven by emotion and storytelling, aiming to convey the heart and spirit of every piece. Whether I'm performing live or recording, my goal is to create an experience that moves and resonates with my audience on a deep level.
What makes this work truly meaningful to me is getting to know the people I’m singing for. I take time to learn their stories, their favorite songs, and what matters most to them. I believe that when there’s a connection, the music becomes so much more than a performance—it becomes part of the moment itself.
If you feel a connection to my story and approach, I would love to hear more about your event.
